The Day the Lights Went Out’ tells the story of Louise, the new girl in town, who is desperate to make new friends. She goes to the mall with Maya, Kele, and Cate. Louise longs to be cool and trendy and afford the expensive clothes like them. Suddenly, the lights go out in the mall, and Maya, Cate and Louise steal clothes from an expensive boutique. Maya and Cate think it is very funny. But Louise feels guilty. How far must she go to make friends?
