Decolonising Education in the Global South: Historical and comparative international perspectives reflects on the decolonisation of education in the Global South (Africa, Latin America and the developing countries in Asia) from a historical and comparative perspective. Countries in the Global South are often characterised as poor, less developed and offering little to the community of social science scholarship. The voices of the Global North dominated those of the Global South and education for Africans was approached from an ethnocentric and Eurocentric point of view. The Global South had a tendency of theorising about indigenous people from a “Western perspective, using Western ideas, culture, politics, and historical experiences
