The new edition of A textbook for midwives focuses on basic midwifery knowledge and incorporates the latest maternity guidelines (2016), as well as other relevant South African guide-lines, updated medication lists and pharmacology protocols. The principles of the scientific method of midwifery (nursing care plans) are implemented throughout and new research evidence is presented where relevant. Additional content on basic neonatology and Covid-19 are included, and the list of references is expanded and updated. In addition, relevant clinical procedures enhance the practical application of this comprehensive resource.
It is aimed at the students of the new qualification of SANC namely the Advanced Diploma in Midwifery which is at an NQF level 7 and BNurse qualification.
